Northern Stars, Mirage post victories

Forward Nikki Logergren (pictured) scored at 4:12 of overtime to lead the Duluth Northern Stars past Eveleth-Gilbert Area 3-2 and Proctor-Hermantown-Marshall clobbered Hibbing-Chisholm 11-0 in high school girls hockey non-conference games Tuesday. Both winners improved to 2-0.
Logergren, a sophomore forward, scored two goals for the visiting Northern Stars, who led 1-0 and 2-1 and were out-shot 37-20. Abby Atol also scored for the Stars, who face top-ranked Stillwater on Friday at 7:30 p.m. at Heritage Arena.
Abby Miner, Nikki Matthews and Julia Gilbert scored two goals apiece for the Mirage, who led 8-0 after one period. PHM out-shot Hibbing-Chisholm 58-8.
