On Wednesday at 10:10 AM, Duluth Police went to 2219 West 4th Street on the report that the owners returned to find their home being burglarized. The male suspect, who is known by the owners, had a brief confrontation with one of them and then fled from the front of the home.

The first officer arriving on scene broadcasted a description of the suspect and possible location he may be headed to. Other officers arriving in the area locate the male suspect at 27th Avenue West and #2 Alley.

Rico Keshon Gause, age 34 of Duluth, was taken into custody and later transported to the St. Louis County Jail where he is being held pending formal charges for First Degree Burglary.

The owners told Officers that they were in the process of packing their vehicle to leave for the weekend when Gause walked by. Gause, who is known by owners, had a brief conversation with them that includes discussion of their weekend plans and when they will be returning. The owners finished loading their vehicle and left only to return a short time later to retrieve some forgotten items. When they arrived back home they find the back door kicked in and the home rummaged through. They then see Gause fleeing out the front door.

The investigation has been referred to the Duluth Police Department Property Crimes Unit. No further information is available at this time.
