The University of Wisconsin-Superior will celebrate the achievements of TRIO students from Upward Bound, Student Support Services and the McNair Scholars Program on Friday, April 7, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
TRIO will present awards to several students during the event. The TRIO programs at UW-Superior include three outreach and support programs targeted to help disadvantaged students progress from middle school to post-baccalaureate programs.
The day will begin in the Erlenbach Lecture Hall, located in Swenson Hall, with a question-and-answer panel, which will discuss what Upward Bound students can expect in college.
At noon the events will shift to the Multicultural Center located in Old Main, Room 232, for a meet and greet followed by opening remarks from Angie Hugdahl, TRIO Manager and Upward Bound Program Director. Also scheduled to speak will be Brenda Harms, Interim Vice Chancellor of Enrollment Management, with Monica Roth Day, Associate Professor of Social Work, providing the keynote speech.
Hugdahl will begin the award presentations at 1 p.m. Wisconsin State Assembly representative Nick Milroy will provide the closing remarks for the event.
