The community is invited to join Dr. Jared Broadway and team for the grand opening of Arrowhead Surgery Center from 2-7 p.m. on Thursday, August 3 at 4316 Rice Lake Road, Suite 104.

The new Surgery Center is located in the Arrowpointe Medical Center (formerly the UnitedHealthcare Building), which features a remodeled lobby, covered patient pick-up area and 1,100 convenient parking spaces.

A ribbon cutting with the Duluth Chamber of Commerce and short program featuring Duluth Mayor Emily Larson will begin at 2 p.m., and refreshments will be served.

Guests can also enjoy tours of the 17,500 square foot state-of-the-art surgery center including demonstrations of the Stryker Airo TruCT. Arrowhead Surgery Center’s Airo is the world’s first point-of-care CT scanner used for navigation within a surgery center. This provides the team with best-in-class image quality that is customizable to the specific needs of each patient.

The opening of Arrowhead Surgery Center marks the return of Dr. Broadway’s spine practice to Duluth. Dr. Broadway previously provided care at Essentia Health before starting his own practice, Northern Neurosurgery and Spine. Northern Neurosurgery and Spine currently serves patients in Fargo, Cloquet and Fergus Falls and is also opening a new clinic adjacent to Arrowhead Surgery Center in Duluth.

“I am thrilled to return home to provide the Northland personalized spine care,” said Dr. Broadway. “With a small-team approach, every patient is considered an extension of our family.”

Dr. Broadway started his neurosurgery practice in 2011. He received his Doctor of Medicine degree at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and completed his Neurological Surgery Residency and Internship at the University of Tennessee at Memphis. He is board-certified in neurosurgery.

He is a member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, The Congress of Neurological Surgeons, and the Alpha Omega Alpha National Medical Honor Society.

Howie: Fix downtown before you try to sell it

You can’t sell people on “vibrancy” if they don’t feel safe walking to their cars. You can’t advertise “connection” when the skywalks are dark and half-locked. You can’t preach “momentum” when storefronts still sit empty after a decade of ribbon cuttings.
