City of Duluth utility operations crews are repairing a water main located at 1511 N 53rd Avenue W. Water is turned off on between N 53rd avenue W and Albion Street and Columbia Street to N Central Avenue. The duration of the repair is unknown at this time. Crews are working to repair the break and restore water service as quickly as possible.
The meeting begins at 6 p.m. Monday in council chambers at City Hall, 411 W. First St. Public comment periods are scheduled for agenda and non-agenda matters.
Due to a power outage this morning, water pressure in the upper Woodland and Kenwood neighborhoods dropped to low levels; as a result, the City of Duluth is issuing a boil water notice to residents in the upper Woodland and Kenwood neighborhoods. If General Fund expenditures exceeded the final budget by approximately $15.27 million, voters deserve to know exactly where the difference occurred, why it occurred, who knew the district was exceeding its budget, when they knew it and what corrective action followed.
Before Nov. 3, the district needs to bring the same clarity to its recovery plan: what went wrong, what has changed and how approximately $112.6 million in additional operating revenue over a decade would produce a sustainable budget.
