The Dream Team carried the Steve Anderson golf event into record territory Friday, becoming the first group in tournament history to break 50 with a 22-under-par score of 49.
Billy Seitz, Taylor Sundbom, Amy Schintz, Paul Schintz, Maddy Schintz and Matt Mellin combined for the record round. Their 49 lowered the tournament scoring standard and completed a pursuit that had become one of the event’s most difficult competitive targets.
The champions needed every part of that record performance to separate themselves from two groups that tied for second place with 51s. Jud Crist, Dustin Nelson, Steve Fiske, Brett Morrison, Jack Hom and Josh Finner finished only two strokes behind the winning team.
Trevor DeRoche, Skylar Kettlehut, Gunner Engbretson, Kyle Ozan, Caleb Wolfe and Max Sazma matched that 51, leaving the two runner-up groups tied after staying within reach of the leaders throughout the event.
