Duluth police arrest violent offender

Local law enforcement authorities arrested Duluth resident Melvin Carlton, 43, today without incident on a warrant and pending charges of Felon in Possession of a Firearm, 5th Degree Possession of Methamphetamine, and Fleeing.

During a search warrant of his persons, a loaded firearm, magazine, and methamphetamine were located and seized. Carlton is currently lodged at St. Louis County Jail.

Investigators and Officers conducted another search warrant at Carlton’s residence, when ammunition and evidence of fentanyl sales were located and seized.
