DULUTH — The Duluth Public Library today announce the return of Kaleidoscope, its longtime summer performance series for children, families and caregivers. Approaching its 50th year, Kaleidoscope remains one of Duluth's most cherished summer traditions, bringing free, family-friendly entertainment to the community while inspiring curiosity, creativity and a lifelong love of learning.
This year's expanded series is made possible through the generous support and partnership of Members Cooperative Credit Union, whose commitment to children, literacy and community enrichment has helped the library grow the program in exciting new ways.
"Members Cooperative Credit Union has been an outstanding community partner," said Youth Services Supervisor Brianna Belanger. "Their support allows us to offer even more opportunities for families to gather, learn and have fun together. We're incredibly grateful for their investment in Duluth's children and for helping us strengthen a tradition that has connected generations of families for nearly five decades."
Through its partnership with the library, Members Cooperative Credit Union has helped enhance the 2026 Kaleidoscope experience with additional programming, expanded family activities and a special season-opening celebration designed to make the series more accessible and engaging than ever before.
The 2026 Kaleidoscope season begins Tuesday, July 7, with a special kickoff celebration featuring family activities, giveaways and limited-edition Kaleidoscope T-shirts for children while supplies last. Families are encouraged to join the festivities and launch a summer filled with reading, discovery and community connection.
All Kaleidoscope performances are free and open to the public. Programs are designed for children, families and caregivers and will take place on the Library Plaza at the Michigan Street Level of the Main Library. An American Sign Language (ASL) interpreter will be present at all 1:30 p.m. performances.
