The Middle School Choirs (grades 6-8) will host their "Pop Concert" Monday, May 22, at 1:30 p.m. in the High School Auditorium.. The Middle School Bands (grades 6-8) will host a concert Tuesday, May 30, at 5:30 p.m. in the High School Auditorium.

. The Combine High School Band & Choir Concert will follow at 7 p.m., on Tuesday, May 30. It will feature the Wind Ensemble, Hawk Band, Jazz Band, Hawk Chorus, Varsity Singers and Vocal Point.. Elementary Spring Concerts will be held May 18 and 19 in the High School Auditorium for grades 1-4.

. Kindergarten students will perform during their graduation ceremonies set to take place May 31 (Tomlin & Kjoberg), June 1 (Wilson & Kaytlynn) or June 2 (Zwak & Otteson) in the Middle School Lecture Hall.

. Sophomore Isabel Kirkeby auditioned for and was accepted to the Minnesota Music Educators Association All-State Symphonic Band. Isabel will attend camp in August at Concordia College in Moorhead where she will meet the guest conductor and attend long hours of rehearsals and sectionals before ending the experience with a performance. The young musicians meet again in February to perform at Orchestra Hall as part of the MMEA Midwinter Convention.

. Coming up is the One Act Festival entitled: "Save Room for Dessert!" It is a fundraiser for the fine arts programs at Hermantown. This festival is a series of short one act plays starring staff members and directed by students. The staff plays are all comedies that revolve around dinner. The One Act Play Team will also perform their play, "The Dining Room" by A.R. Gurney. Each play will share the same set and set pieces. You are guaranteed to laugh!

. Several winter sports athletes were named to the Duluth News Tribune All-Area Teams, including: Girls Hockey: Reese Heitzman, Sophie Parendo, Nya Sieger || Boys Hockey: Dallas Vieau, George Peterson, Wyatt Carlson, Kade Kohanski || Boys Basketball: Blake Schmitz, Abe Soumis. A number of Hermantown student-athletes recently signed National Letters of Intent or Letters of Commitment to continue their athletic careers at the next level, including: Summer Keinzle, Swimming & Diving, UW-Eau Claire.
