Goalkeeper Ethan Aysta stopped eight of nine shots, and Hunter Nelson and Owen Landrigan each scored two goals to power Hermantown past Duluth Marshall 4-1 in a Lake Superior Conference boys soccer match Tuesday afternoon at Corey Veech Field. The Hawks (1-1 overall and 1-0 in the LSC) will face Proctor at 11 a.m. Thursday at Terry Egerdahl Field in Proctor.

“My expectations for this year are high,” said Hermantown coach David Thompson. “We return plenty of talented players and the culture of teamwork and hard work is evident. Our strengths are depth in the midfield and a sense of urgency to compete. I have no concerns about this team back to front.”

The Rails are 0-2 and 0-1 in the LSC, following a season-opening home loss to Legacy Christian, 2-0, and a 9-0 road loss at Grand Rapids Tuesday.
