The ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge recognized Lake Superior College on Tuesday for its nonpartisan democratic engagement efforts that fostered high levels of student voter engagement in the 2022 midterm election. LSC earned a Silver Seal, reflecting its commitment to ensuring that nonpartisan democratic engagement is a defining feature of campus life.
The ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge empowers colleges and universities to achieve excellence in nonpartisan student democratic engagement. LSC was recognized alongside more than 500 campuses using data from the National Study of Learning, Voting, and Engagement (NSLVE) out of Tufts University, which found that colleges and universities had the second-highest voter turnout among students in a midterm election since NSLVE began measuring this data.
LSC had 39% campus voting rate for the 2022 midterm elections according to the NSLVE report to earn the Silver Seal. That percentage was 8% higher than the average of all participating institutions in the challenge. Currently, the school is marketing internally on voter resources and civil discourse ahead of the upcoming general election. The college also established a web site lsc.edu/vote to further educate students on the process of getting registered and how to vote.

Lake Superior College also earned a Silver Seal for the 2020 general election. Prior to that, LSC earned a Gold Seal for the 2018 midterm election and a bronze seal for the 2016 general election. The school also was recognized as a Most Engaged Campus for College Student Voting in November of 2022.

More than 1,060 institutions enrolling more than 10 million students participate in the ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge, which supports colleges and universities in achieving excellence in nonpartisan student voter engagement.
