Lake Superior Publishing assets have been sold to Linda Nervick of e-lynx, LLC.
Nervick has worked in the publishing industry for 32 years. She previously spent five years with Lake Superior Magazine, helped launch Cabin Life Magazine with Fladmark Publishing from 2000 to 2010, and later self-published Winter Fun 101, Summer Fun 101 and DogApproved.Biz.
“It’s an honor to carry the traditions of Lake Superior Publishing forward. We value our readers, followers, advertisers and contributors,” Nervick said. “I’m looking forward to bringing Lake Superior magazine into its 50th Anniversary, in 2029.”
E-lynx, LLC plans to expand Lake Superior Publishing’s digital reach, grow print circulation and add Lake Superior–region events.
The glossy magazine has featured lake-related photography and articles since its first edition in March 1979, when it was published as Lake Superior Port Cities. The publication was founded in 1984 and later renamed Lake Superior Magazine.
In addition to publishing six issues annually, the brand expanded over the years to include the annual Lake Superior Travel Guide, the Lake Superior Circle Tour map, books, merchandise, LakeSuperior.com and other websites, e-newsletters and social media platforms.
Lake Superior Magazine has won more than 200 industry awards, including Magazine of the Year from the Minnesota Magazine Publishing Association in 2013.
BusinessNorth and Lake Superior Magazine were previously owned by Ron Brochu and the late Beth Bily at 109 W. Superior St. BusinessNorth will continue independently under Ron Brochu of Great Northern Publishing.
