Minnesota Mile returns Friday

The HowieHanson.com is powered by Lyric Kitchen · Bar

The Minnesota Mile will bring runners back to Enger Park on Friday evening, offering a one-mile showcase on Skyline Parkway with some of the best views in the city and the chance to support youth athletics.

The event, capped at 600 participants, begins at 6 p.m. with heats for recreational runners before shifting into competitive races for masters, open women and open men later in the evening. Runners will start and finish at Enger Park Golf Course, navigating the 5,280-foot course around the park during the early stretch of fall’s color season.

Heats are organized by pace to help ease congestion on the course, beginning with recreational heats at 6, 6:05, 6:10 and 6:20 p.m. Competitive heats follow: masters (age 40 and older) at 6:40 p.m., open women (39 and under) at 6:50 p.m., and open men (39 and under) at 7:00 p.m.

Parking will be available at Lake Superior College, Enger Tower Park, Skyline Parkway and limited spaces at Enger Park Golf Course. A continuous shuttle will run from Lake Superior College to the race site starting at 4 p.m.
