OCEANSIDE, Calif. — The Arena Football One franchise in Oceanside has been acquired by local business owners Alberto Gean and Margaret Gean and will immediately rebrand as the Oceanside Stealth, the league announced Monday.
The team had competed as the Oceanside Bombers. AF1 did not disclose the financial terms of the sale.
The new owners said the name change is part of a broader effort to rebuild the franchise’s operations and strengthen its relationships with fans, businesses and community organizations in Oceanside.
"The rebranding from Oceanside Bombers to Oceanside Stealth defines the transition from old to new ownership and the implementation of a new organizational culture," said Alberto Gean. "We are dedicated to the repairing and fostering of the relationships in the City of Oceanside and establish a recommitment to our community. We are proud to be the professional team representing the City of Oceanside."
The franchise plans to introduce new colors, logos and uniforms as part of the rebranding. It also expects to expand its game-day promotions, digital outreach and local partnerships while working with AF1 officials on the ownership transition.
The team said additional information about merchandise, community events and opportunities to meet the new owners will be released in the coming weeks. Season-ticket holders also will receive updates as the new branding is introduced.
