Esko boys basketball coach Derek Anderson on his team, which begins Section 7AA tournament play in a first-round home game next week against a yet-to-be-determined opponent – "I think we need to cut down on our turnovers, box out, and move the ball as a team. If we do those things we should have a good chance of extending our season. We also need to focus on staying engaged for an entire game and getting locked in on the defensive end. We are looking forward to the playoffs."

Note: Section 7AA bracket ... Esko (17-8) lost to host Annandale 74-73 in overtime on Thursday night ... Pequot Lakes defeated Esko 77-59 in the 7AA final last season .. Esko defeated other potential 2023-24 7AA high seeds Pequot Lakes 50-40 on Feb. 6 and Crosby-Ironton 82-70 on Feb. 20 ... Esko’s top players are 6-foot-6 senior post Braedyn Male, 6-2 junior scoring phenom Sam Haugen and 6-1 senior guard Makoi Perich.
