HERMANTOWN — Quinn Raukar scored three goals and Parker Clennon added three assists as unbeaten Hermantown rolled past Hibbing 4-0 in boys soccer Tuesday afternoon.
The Hawks improved to 4-0 and recorded their second consecutive shutout, following a 4-0 victory at Proctor last week.
Hermantown wasted little time taking control against Hibbing. Raukar scored off a Clennon assist in the third minute, putting the Hawks ahead 1-0.
The same combination struck again in the 30th minute. Clennon set up Raukar for his second goal, sending Hermantown into halftime with a 2-0 lead.
The Hawks continued to control the match after the break.
Trevor Arnston extended the lead to 3-0 in the 60th minute, again with Clennon providing the assist.
Raukar completed the hat trick in the 70th minute, scoring off an assist from Arnston.
Hibbing goalkeeper Louis Skaja made eight saves. Ethan Aysta and Josh Olsen each one save for the Hawks.
The victory continued a dominant opening stretch for Hermantown. The Hawks have defeated Holy Family 3-1, Duluth Marshall 4-1, Proctor 4-0 and Hibbing, scoring 15 goals while allowing only two.
Raukar’s three-goal performance gave Hermantown another decisive offensive showing, but Clennon’s work creating three of the four goals was equally significant. Arnston also contributed at both ends of the scoring sequence in the second half, scoring in the 60th minute and assisting Raukar 10 minutes later.
Hermantown now takes its unbeaten record on the road. The Hawks are scheduled to play at Cloquet at 7 p.m. Thursday, before visiting Duluth Denfeld on Tuesday. Hermantown then returns home for a rematch against Proctor on Thursday, Sept. 17.
