A 46-year-old man was sentenced Tuesday to 12 years in prison after being convicted of multiple counts of criminal sexual conduct involving a minor, according to the St. Louis County Attorney's Office. Chief Judge Leslie E. Beiers sentenced Shawn Francis Mortensen to 144 months in prison
The city's response should not be measured by the words spoken at a news conference but measured in the weeks and months ahead by successful investigations, accountability for those responsible, thoughtful prevention efforts and a renewed sense of confidence among the people who call Duluth home.
The tournament has become one of the premier showcases for elite international players under the age of 17, with many participants eventually advancing to the USA Hockey National Team Development Program, the National Hockey League and future international competition.
