LAKEWOOD TOWNSHIP, Minn. — Two motorcyclists suffered non-life-threatening injuries in separate crashes Monday evening in Lakewood and Grand Lake townships.
Emergency responders were called shortly after 6 p.m. to a three-vehicle crash at Lester River Road and Acquire Lane in Lakewood Township. Investigators determined that the driver of a passenger car rear-ended a motorcycle, causing the motorcycle to strike a third vehicle.
The motorcycle rider was transported by Mayo Clinic Ambulance for treatment. The driver of the car that struck the motorcycle was cited, authorities said. The releases did not identify the people involved or specify the citation issued.
The second crash was reported shortly before 8 p.m. near Munger Shaw Road and West Bowman Lake Road in Grand Lake Township. Authorities said a motorcycle was traveling south on Munger Shaw Road when it collided with a deer in the roadway.
The rider, who was wearing a helmet, was transported by Mayo Clinic Ambulance for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. The rider’s name was not released.
