UMD will induct its 22nd Athletic Hall of Fame Class on Friday, September 29 as part of Homecoming.

The University of Minnesota Duluth Athletics Department announced on Wednesday the 22nd class that will be inducted its Athletic Hall of Fame in September.

The 10-member class features former hockey All-Americans Jack Connolly and Caroline Ouellette, track & field and cross country All-American Morgan (Place) Kowalik, football All-American Russ Rabe, women’s basketball Conference Player of the Year Sara Belanger, two-time all-region volleyball standout Joelyn (Young) Hansen, all-region soccer player Nicole Fietz, three-time All-NSIC baseball player Jeff Kaldor, and MIAC-era standouts in men’s basketball’s Mike Josephson and track & field’s Dale Kusnierek.

UMD will induct its 22nd Athletic Hall of Fame Class on Friday, September 29 as part of Homecoming. This will be the first induction ceremony since February of 2019. The 10 inductees will bring the UMD Athletic Hall of Fame membership to 150 individuals representing 21 sports. – Press release

The Colorado Avalanche Hockey Club has re-signed defenseman Wyatt Aamodt to a one-year, two-way contract for the 2023-24 season. The Hermantown native will earn $100,000 in the minors and $775,000 if he plays the entire season with the Avalanche.
