Lake View Hospital named one of the Top 100 Critical Access Hospitals in the U.S.

Two Harbors – Lake View Hospital has been named a Top 100 Critical Access Hospital in the United States by Chartis Center for Rural Health.

The rating is based on the Chartis Rural Hospital Strength INDEX, which assesses performance in inpatient market share, outpatient market share, quality, outcomes, patient perspective, cost, charge and finance.

“We are honored to be one of the top 100 critical access hospitals nationally and one of only seven hospitals in Minnesota to have achieved this recognition,” Lake View Hospital President/CEO Greg Ruberg said. “We strive to achieve positive results in all areas, and our continued positive results takes an entire team of aligned employees and providers all working together effectively for our patients and their families.”

As of December 2023, there were 1,366 CAHs in the United States. Minnesota has 78 and Wisconsin has 58 CAHs.
