A concrete resurfacing project on I-35 through the Duluth tunnels will commence on July 8. When the project work begins, motorists can expect lane closures between 5th Avenue West and 21st Avenue Eastth Avenue West and 21st.

Later in the summer, ramp closures will be required at Lake Avenue/Michigan Street on southbound I-35. This project is part of a two-year project that also includes concrete pavement repairs and bridge work in the Duluth section of I-35.

Due to the high risk of rip currents today, the Duluth Fire Department has missed a warning for dangerous swimming conditions for Park Point beaches effective immediately and continuing until 10 a.m. Tuesday. The warning means that wind and wave conditions can support rip currents. Rip currents are life-threatening to anyone entering the water, so stay out of the water regardless of your swimming experience. Be advised that even calm waters after storm activity can support rip currents, so wait for warnings to expire. Red flags are flying along the beach to indicate dangerous swimming conditions. You are advised to stay out of the water.
