DULUTH — A fried peanut butter and jelly sandwich, pickle bacon pizza and a roast beef melt are among the new concessions the Duluth Entertainment Convention Center plans to serve at AMSOIL Arena for the coming hockey season.
The fried PB&J is made with grape jelly and peanut butter on white bread, coated in tempura batter and deep-fried. The “Big Dill” pizza has a ranch base topped with mozzarella, pickles, bacon and dill.
Other additions include mozzarella planks with marinara sauce; a roast beef melt on Johnson’s Bakery sourdough with caramelized onions, Swiss cheese and au jus; and Fraboni’s Viking Brat, made with mozzarella, red onion and wild rice. A quarter-pound hot dog called the “Bulldog” comes topped with chili beef sauce and shredded Monterey cheese.
Pizza rolls are joining the menu as the DECC marks its 60th anniversary. The DECC highlighted the connection to Duluth businessman Jeno Paulucci, whose company invented pizza rolls and whose support helped make the Duluth Auditorium and Arena possible in 1966.
