Senior forward Benson Peterson scored four goals to power Duluth Marshall past Duluth Denfeld 10-2 in a Lake Superior Conference boys hockey game Thursday night at the Duluth Heritage Center. The Hilltoppers (1-0) visit nonconference Anoka at 2 p.m. Saturday.

Elsewhere in Minnesota boys hockey Thursday:

Rogers opened with a convincing 7-1 win at Andover, while Buffalo put up eight goals in an 8-1 victory at Chaska. Blake knocked off Mounds View 6-3, and Chisago Lakes blanked Princeton 6-0.

In the metro, St. Thomas Academy cruised past Tartan 12-0, and Breck overwhelmed St. Paul Academy 16-0. Centennial lost to Stillwater 3-2 and Chanhassen edged Shakopee 1-0.

Outstate, Rock Ridge held off Brainerd 6-3 in a strong early-season showing, Becker/Big Lake beat Breckenridge/Wahpeton 5-1, and Luverne slipped past Rochester Lourdes 3-2. New Prague earned a road win at Mankato East 6-5.

Lakeville South fell at Minnetonka 6-3, and Spring Lake Park/Coon Rapids topped Hopkins 6-3. Two Rivers defeated Rochester Century/John Marshall 3-2, and Alexandria was shut out at Bemidji 3-0.

Today's Boys Hockey Games

Osseo opens with a 2 p.m. game at Mankato West. At 5 p.m., Moorhead visits Edina, while St. Cloud Cathedral heads to Thief River Falls at 5:30.

Warroad, a perennial Class A contender, hosts Delano at 6 p.m. Other 6 p.m. starts include Moose Lake Area at Wadena-Deer Creek, Willmar at Prairie Centre, and Lake of the Woods at Red Lake Falls.

The 7 p.m. window features one of the busiest stretches of the night: Rock Ridge hosts Sartell, Greenway travels to Red Wing, Robbinsdale Armstrong/Cooper plays at St. Louis Park, Roseau heads west across the border to face Grand Forks Red River, Owatonna plays at Farmington, Faribault skates at Dodge County, Hibbing/Chisholm visits Cretin-Derham Hall, Park Rapids Area goes to Bagley/Fosston, and Northern Lakes meets Somerset (Wis.).

Two late games round out the schedule: Westonka visits Minnesota River at 7:15, East Ridge travels to Rosemount also at 7:15, and 7:30 features a big Class AA showdown with Maple Grove at Wayzata.
