Hermantown shines in Lake Superior Conference all-conference soccer honors

No other program matched Hermantown’s total across both boys’ and girls’ squads, a reflection of the Hawks’ sustained strength in the sport and their ability to develop talent year after year.

Hermantown soccer players were front and center when the Lake Superior Conference announced its 2025 all-conference teams, with Hawks earning a league-best presence on both the boys’ and girls’ lists.

On the girls’ side, seniors Avea Harriman, Brook Weise and Cambrila Thomas landed on the first team, underscoring the program’s depth and veteran leadership. Hermantown also added Danika Bolf to the second team, while Claire Niksich and Bryden Giesen picked up honorable mention nods.

The boys’ teams were equally stacked with Hawks talent. Seniors Hunter Nelson and Quinn Andrews, along with junior goalkeeper Ethan Aysta, gave Hermantown three spots on the prestigious first team. Rising junior Quinn Raukar made the second team, while Brennan Malmstrom earned honorable mention.

The remainder of the girls’ first team included Cloquet’s Lauren Hughes and Tenique Moose, Denfeld’s Lucy Chastey and Lucy Bell, Grand Rapids’ Ava Limberg and Quinn Cargill, Proctor’s Gianna Hansen, and Marshall’s Heidi Weiss.

Other boys’ first-team selections went to Denfeld’s Lenny Jennings and Sam Eklund, Marshall’s Benson Peterson and Eli Thorson, Cloquet’s Aiden Korby, Grand Rapids’ Ben Blake, and Superior’s Spencer Kidd and Peyton Franta.

The girls’ second team featured Cloquet’s Aubrey Pavlatos, Megan Werhan and Allie Hammond; Grand Rapids’ Addie Peterson and Brooklyn Troumbly; Denfeld’s Ava Davis and Gabby Pipho; Marshall’s Giulia McGiffert; Proctor’s Lola Witte; and Hibbing’s Brynn Babich.

On the boys’ second team, selections included Cloquet’s Jordan Sewell and Colten Rennquist, Grand Rapids’ Marco Rolle and Hayden Jackson, Superior’s Evan Strauch and Marc Pagnucci, Denfeld’s Ayden Daniel, Marshall’s Roy Talbert, Hibbing’s Julien Fisher, and Proctor’s Dean Coleman.

Honorable mentions rounded out the lists with Cloquet’s BrookeLynn Sell, Marshall’s Sydney Erickson, Proctor’s Savannah Synott and Madison Corder, and Denfeld’s Sylvia Grochowski for the girls; and Hibbing’s Adam Reckmeyer, Grand Rapids’ Finn Schlicht, Denfeld’s Madden Stone, and Proctor’s Isaac Bogatzki for the boys.
