Marlene J. Mellesmoen, age 92, passed away on Thursday, November 27, 2025.

Born in Duluth, Minnesota, she was the daughter of Doyle A. Tyson, Sr., and Lillian G.P. (Nystrom) Tyson, and had one sibling, a brother, Doyle A. Tyson, Jr. (Buzz).

Marlene was a proud alum of Duluth Central High School. She wore many hats throughout her life. She was an operating room technician, a food demonstrator, sold lunch tickets at Duluth East High School during the mid-1970’s, a server at the Kitchi Gammi Club for several years, and the Duluth Women’s Club.

Marlene married Dale R. Mellesmoen on July 12,1952 at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Duluth, MN. Together they had three children, Duane, Linda, and Laurie.

Marlene was preceded in death by her parents and brother, husband Dale, son Duane, and granddaughter Katie Morris.

Marlene is survived by loving family members, Linda (David) Morris, Laurie Rouse, Judy Mellesmoen (Duane); grandchildren Amy (Mitch) Fink, Daniel (Trisha) Mellesmoen, Emily (Andy) Dietz, Joseph Rouse, and Elsie (Nick) Viele; Great grandchildren Alex Fink, Jack Fink, Aubrey Mellesmoen, Brynnley Dietz, Collin Mellesmoen, Micah Rouse, Lauren Dietz, Oakley Viele, and Tucker Viele. Niece Nancy Cody (Curt), great niece Amanda Stark, her children Christopher, and Peyton; great nephews Patrick Stark, and Christopher Berg.

Visitation 10 am until the 11 am funeral service Tuesday, December 2, 2025 in Williams Lobermeier Boettcher Funeral Home. Burial in Forest Hill Cemetery.
