Abe Soumis and Nathan Hill of Hermantown are rostered to play for Northern Lakers 2024 in the Prep Hoops Live AAU tournament in Minneapolis this weekend. Esko standouts Zander Gabel, Jacion Owens and Dalton Spindler are Northern Lakers teammates.

Starks Elite 2024, led by 2025 Brooks Johnson of Duluth Marshall and 2024 Aidan Altona of Duluth Denfeld, is also participating in the event.

WEDNESDAY PREP SCOREBOARD

Wyatt Carlson had three hits to power Hermantown past Proctor 10-5 in Lake Superior Conference baseball Tuesday afternoon at Terry Egerdahl Field in Proctor. The Hawks (3-0) will visit Cloquet Thursday.

. Cale Haugen’s two-run home run helped propel Esko past Duluth Marshall 3-2 in a matchup of Section 7AA favorites at historic Wade Stadium.

. Cloquet blitzed Duluth Marshall 22-1 in a four-inning Lake Superior Conference softball game at Dick Swanson Fields outside Wade Stadium.

. Duluth Marshall edged host Denfeld 4-3 in boys tennis.

. Proctor-Hermantown defeated Duluth 11-10 in double-overtime in girls lacrosse.

The Monsters are Duluth’s newest professional arena football team and will compete in Arena One Football this season. The team will play home games at Amsoil Arena. Arena football is played indoors on a shortened, 50-yard field.
