St. Louis County Historical Society opens new exhibit featuring historic photographs of Duluth

The St. Louis County Historical Society is proud to announce the opening of its newest exhibit, The Views of Duluth. If you have ever wondered what Duluth looked like a century ago, now is your chance to take a walk through history!

Panoramas and photographs provide insight into the industry and entertainment that shaped the city. The exhibit features copies of McKenzie's photographs and other notable Duluth photographers whose works highlight the establishments and architecture of the 1900s. A poignant insight into the lives of past Duluthians is captured, from quiet streets and scenic overlooks to grand theaters and exciting recreation events. Come and see the places and people who have contributed to the history of Duluth.

The Views of Duluth is located on the fourth-floor gallery above the Great Hall of the Duluth Depot, 506 W Michigan St. The Depot is open daily from 10AM-5PM. St. Louis County Historical Society exhibits and galleries are free to the public. The exhibit will be open through August 31st.

Since its inception in 1922, the St. Louis County Historical Society has sought to collect, preserve, and disseminate knowledge about the history of St. Louis County and the state of Minnesota. The Society maintains and operates a museum, the Veterans Memorial Hall and the Ojibwe Gallery, and various traveling exhibits. – Press release
