Giant Voices elevates women in marketing

Submitted. Giant Voices

Giant Voices has earned recognition for elevating women as one of Finance & Commerce’s 2024 Empowering Women honorees.

The awards recognize companies and organizations that have shown a strong commitment to supporting women in Minnesota. Giant Voices was recognized among the honorees at Finance & Commerce’s VIP awards reception on Wednesday, August 21, 2024.

“We are extremely proud to have built a culture that not only welcomes women but also hones their individual strengths and helps achieve their professional and personal ambitions,” said Lisa Bodine, Giant Voices Owner and Principal. “We serve traditionally male-dominated industries, and our team is no stranger to being the only women in the room. With training and preparation, all Giants command rooms and deploy marketing strategies that drive powerful results.”

Giant Voices is a 100% women-owned full-service marketing agency that provides powerful strategic and creative services. Since its founding by Pascha Apter in 2012, Giant Voices has prioritized hiring smart, intuitive marketers with tremendous capacity for growth. Today, women comprise over 90% of the Giant Voices team.

The company is primarily managed by principals Bodine and Jena Mertz, who provide oversight and leadership grounded in strong strategic marketing, advertising and sales experience.

The entire Giant Voices team has ample opportunity to shape their careers through the company’s in-house training and employee development initiatives, mentorship opportunities and support for training, education and industry conferences. Ongoing training sessions dive into Radical CandorPowerful Language and Nuances of Communication to empower the entire team to lead conversations with confidence.

“We operate in fast-paced industries, and our whole team elevates and amplifies our clients’ work without missing a beat on developing their own careers and lives,” said Mertz. “We’ve become an attractive workplace because we understand what it takes to balance careers, family and personal obligations, and we support our employees’ growth goals.”

Giant Voices also prepares the next generation of strategic marketers through its reputable college internship program. Giant interns are ambitious marketing, communications and/or business students looking for hands-on experience with a fast-paced firm—and over 85% have been talented, driven young women.

Giant interns work closely with the team to conduct marketing research, create content, participate in client meetings, put marketing strategies into action and more. Many Giant interns have been hired on as full-time Giants, and some have gone into the business world only to boomerang, bringing their knowledge, skills and experience back to Giant Voices. All take what they’ve learned to drive success wherever they land.

TEDxDuluth, like all TEDx events, is built around the idea that small ideas can have outsized impact. That a single story, told honestly, can reroute someone else’s thinking. It’s not about celebrity. It’s about resonance.

Howie: Bulldogs fighting for home ice in the playoffs

Home ice is there for the taking. The Bulldogs will either take points from Denver, survive North Dakota, and handle their business against Miami and Colorado College — or they’ll finish fifth, look back at a missed weekend or two, and tell themselves they were close.
