Maloney. Submitted

Attorney Melissa Maloney has returned to the Duluth-based law firm Fryberger, Buchanan, Smith & Frederick, P.A., the firm announced.

Maloney earned her juris doctor from the University of Minnesota Law School in 2001. She is certified as a Real Property Law Specialist by the Minnesota State Bar Association, a credential administered by the association and approved by the State Board of Legal Certification.

Maloney previously practiced at Fryberger for more than 12 years before serving as a real estate attorney for the City of Duluth. She will focus her practice on real estate law and related transactional work.

“Coming back feels natural. I’ve worked with almost everyone here before,” Maloney said. “Fryberger has a strong real estate and municipal bond practice, and I’m looking forward to getting back into that work.”

Fryberger President Mia Thibodeau said Maloney’s experience and familiarity with the firm will benefit clients and colleagues.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Melissa back,” Thibodeau said. “Her depth of experience in real estate law and her familiarity with our practice make her a tremendous asset to our clients and our team.”

Outside of her legal work, Maloney enjoys traveling and spending time with her family.

Fryberger, Buchanan, Smith & Frederick, P.A., is a 26-attorney firm providing legal services in business and corporate law, real estate transactions, employment and labor law, litigation, wills and trusts, finance and personal injury. The firm is licensed to practice in Minnesota, Wisconsin, North Dakota, Arizona and California, with offices in Duluth, Cloquet and Superior.
