Burrito Union, the neighborhood cantina known for its playful take on traditional cuisine, is set to revolutionize Duluth's burger scene with the launch of its all-new Smash Burgers.

The addition is part of Burrito Union's ongoing commitment to culinary innovation and will be available starting Monday, coinciding with the release of its new menu.

Located in the heart of the Chester neighborhood on 4th Street, Burrito Union has long been a destination for food enthusiasts seeking bold flavors and vibrant experiences. With their motto, "Get smashed at BU," the introduction of smash burgers adds an exciting twist to their diverse menu, which already features an array of options including burritos, bowls and beer.

Smash burgers have been gaining popularity in the Duluth area, and Burrito Union is thrilled to bring this trend to their loyal patrons. Unlike traditional burgers, smash burgers are cooked fast and hot, resulting in a deliciously crispy finish across the entire surface area. These burgers promise a delightful explosion of flavors with every bite.

“We wanted to shake things up a bit with our menu, and our Smash Burgers are just the beginning,” said Jess Naber, Burrito Union's marketing director. “It's all about keeping things interesting and having fun with food! We're breaking away from our norm, and we're excited to offer something for everyone."

The new menu will feature four mouthwatering smash burger options:

Classic Comrade, topped with sliced American cheese & caramelized onions.

Hatch Chile, a perfect combination of hatch green chiles, cream cheese, shredded cheddar, & seasoning blend topped with shredded lettuce & tomatoes.

Sputnik Smash, sliced American cheese & queso topped with bacon onion chutney (house-made with Brewhouse Big Boat Stout).

Wildfire Ranchero, topped with shredded pepper jack cheese, pineapple habanero salsa, & ranchero sauce.

All burgers come with two 4oz smashed ground chuck patties on a potato bun, served with a side of tater tots. Burrito Union encourages patrons to provide feedback and suggestions for future smash burger additions to the menu.

In addition to the new smash burgers, Burrito Union continues to offer a diverse range of options, including BUddha Bowls, burritos, tacos, and quesadillas. Paired with local brews on tap from Fitger's Brewhouse, as well as margaritas and mule cocktails, Burrito Union promises an unforgettable dining experience for friends and family alike.
