The Duluth FC, northern Minnesota’s premier semi-professional men's soccer team, opens May 15 against Joy FC at Walt Hunting Stadium in West Duluth. Thomas Pazo is the BlueGreens' new head coach. The club begins its eighth season in the National Premier Soccer League, and is co-owned by local businessman Alex Giuliani and 2018 Olympic curling gold medalist John Shuster of Superior.

Monday Hermantown’s week begins with football underclassmen on display. The Hawks’ junior varsity face Duluth Denfeld at 5 p.m. at Corey Veech Field at Centricity Stadium.
