Section of Third Street near St. Mary's Hospital will be temporarily closed starting Thursday

Contractors will close a section of Third Street between Fifth Avenue East and Fourth Avenue East on Thursday and Friday for the installation of fencing at the St. Mary’s Hospital site. The closure will begin at 6 a.m. Thursday.

Traffic will be rerouted north around the block, using Fifth Avenue East, to Fourth Street, then to Fourth Avenue East.

Motorists should note that this road is currently undergoing repaving work and should consider alternative routes during the closure if possible. Heavy traffic congestion is anticipated and delays are expected.

The road is scheduled to reopen to limited lane traffic upon completion of the work, expected by Friday afternoon.
