Monday

Boys Soccer – at Duluth Marshall, 4 p.m. Match Notes: The Hawks defeated the Hilltoppers 4-1 on August 27 at Centricity Stadium. Hermantown also blitzed Proctor 6-0 in a LSC Day match on Saturday in Superior.

Tuesday

Boys and Girls Cross Country Running – at Ki-Chi-Saga Country Park, 3 p.m.

Girls Tennis – host Stella Marais Academy, 4 p.m.

Girls Swimming & Diving – at Duluth East, 5 p.m.

Girls Soccer – host Grand Rapids, 6:30 p.m. Match Note: The Hawks are 3-5-1 overall and 3-2-0 and tied with Cloquet-Carlton for first-place in the Lake Superior Conference. The Thunderhawks are 4-2-1 and 2-0-1 in (fourth-place).

Volleyball – host Superior, 7 p.m. Match Notes: Hermantown (6-0) defeated Hibbing 3-0 last Thursday in Hibbing. The Hawks have lost only three sets all season, and only one in the last three matches. Hermantown has six matches remaining in the regular season, including four at home.

Wednesday

Girls Tennis – at Cloquet, 4:15 p.m.

Thursday

Girls Tennis – host Duluth Marshall, 4:15 p.m.

Boys Soccer – at Grand Rapids, 5 p.m. Match Note: The Thunderhawks are 4-2-2 (not including Tuesday’s home match against Mesabi East). Hermantown and Grand Rapids will also meet next Monday in Hermantown.

Girls Soccer – at Two Harbors, 6 p.m. Match Note: The Agates are 2-5-1 overall.

Volleyball – host Duluth Denfeld, 7 p.m. Match Note: The Hunters are 5-8 overall (not including Tuesday’s home match against North Branch)

Friday

Football – at Grand Rapids, 7 p.m. Game Notes: The Hawks (2-1) hope to rebound from a heartbreaking 48-44 road loss at North Branch last Friday night. The Thunderhawks (2-1) defeated host Rock Ridge 13-7. Hermantown, Grand Rapids, Cloquet all are 1-1 in the Northeast Red, and chasing conference leader North Branch at 2-0 and Duluth Denfeld at 1-0. Duluth East (2-1) is 0-1 in league play and Rock Ridge (1-2) 0-2.    

Saturday

Girls Soccer – host Duluth Denfeld, 1 p.m.

Howie: Duluth gets another shot at pro football, starting Tuesday

The Minnesota Monsters have made their move by stepping into a stronger league and bringing the team into Amsoil. Tuesday afternoon is the community’s opportunity to meet the players, see the vision for the franchise and decide whether Duluth intends to build something lasting around it.
