Judith “Judy” Lange Sandstrom, 76, of Cable, WI, passed away on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Duluth, with her family by her side. Judy was born on May 5, 1949, in Chippewa Falls, WI, the loving daughter of Paul and Sally (Lange) Glasener. She grew up in Chippewa Falls and graduated from Chippewa Falls Senior High School.

After attending cosmetology school, Judy worked in the industry until she met and married Dean Sandstrom. In 1974, she moved to Cable, WI, where the couple built a life together and shared 38 years of marriage. In 2015, Judy was blessed to find love again with her devoted partner, John German, with whom she remained lovingly committed until her passing.

Judy loved to fish, especially on treasured fly-in fishing trips to Canada with family and friends. She had a big heart and not a mean bone in her body. Known for her warm hospitality and her gift of gab, Judy welcomed everyone into her home. She was a wonderful cook—her spaghetti and meatballs were a family favorite. Judy was a caring friend, a devoted caregiver, and a cherished big sister to Ann and Mark. She also served as the family historian, recalling stories and adventures from years gone by.

Judy is survived by her loving partner, John German; his four children; and his twelve grandchildren, who adored her. She is also survived by her son, Paul (Jenny) Sandstrom, and her granddaughter, Daisy Sandstrom.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dean Sandstrom, and by her parents, Paul (Soapy) and Sally Glasener. She is survived by her sister Ann (Ron) Yountz and her brother Mark (Sheri) Glasener. Additional survivors include her brothers-in-law Sigurd (Mary Ann) Sandstrom and Scottie (Cheryl) Sandstrom; her sisters-in-law Pat Sandstrom and Carol (Bill) Buffie; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and her beloved fur babies, Minnie and Razzie.

The family extends a heartfelt thank-you to the staff at St. Mary’s Hospice for their compassionate care, and to Paige Glasener for the comfort she provided to Aunt Ju-Ju during this difficult time. They also wish to thank Judy’s cousin Robbie Hagen for making the trip home to be by her side.

A celebration of Judy’s life will be held in Cable, WI, in the spring of 2026.

Arrangements are under the direction of The Cremation Society of Minnesota.
