Hermantown hoping to improve to 3-0 with win at Duluth East

Hermantown will put its unbeaten record on the line tonight night when the Hawks travel to Ordean Stadium to face Duluth East in a Northeast Red Conference football matchup.

The Hawks (2-0) have leaned on one of the area’s top junior tandems in halfback Martin Sleen and quarterback Sawyer Senst. Sleen, regarded as one of the premier running backs in Minnesota, has powered the ground game with his blend of speed and strength. Senst, meanwhile, has emerged as a reliable dual-threat option under center, giving Hermantown balance that has kept defenses guessing through two convincing wins.

Duluth East is still searching for its first victory after two starts.

Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.

If you watch Hanger closely, you’ll notice he occasionally glances at the prompter with a smirk, like he’s reminding himself not to take any of it too seriously. That’s a healthy instinct in an industry where self-importance runs rampant.
