The Duluth Fire Department earlier today responded to 7800 Congdon Boulevard for a trail rescue. A male in his seventies reportedly slipped from a trail edge and fell around 20 feet off a cliff along Lake Superior. Bystanders reported the fall to St. Louis County 911 Dispatch. 6 Engine, 4
Improvements at the park will include new park landscaping and amenities, shoreline stabilization, improved access to the shore, and replacement of non-native plant species.
Lifeguarding services are funded through an allocation of 2023 Tourism Tax funds. The Duluth Fire Department will continue to support beach safety through managing flags, electronic signs, and emergency response.
The Greater Minnesota Parks and Trails Commission awarded Duluth Parks and Recreation a total of $167,783 in 2022 to be used over three years, with programming kicking off in 2023.
