Temporary closure to portion of Skyline Parkway in the Twin Ponds area

The City of Duluth has announced a temporary closure of Skyline Parkway at Twin Ponds for bridge repairs beginning on August 12, 2024. The work is anticipated to take roughly two weeks, and the bridge is expected to reopen after August 23, 2024.

Access to Twin Ponds trailhead/parking, Enger Park golf course, and Enger Tower will remain open, but minor delays and temporary traffic controls may be encountered. Please note the access points:

• Enger Tower: Only accessible from Hank Jensen Drive via 24th Avenue West.
• Enger Park Golf Course: Only accessible on Skyline Parkway from 24th Avenue West.
• Enger Park Overlooks: Only accessible on Skyline Parkway from 24th Avenue West.
• Twin Ponds/Trailhead: Only accessible on Skyline Parkway from 10th Avenue West.

Drivers should expect delays due to the construction and are advised to exercise caution and reduce speed. Fifth Street is closed for additional roadwork, and it is prohibited to move barricades. Although no official detour is provided, an alternative route via Observation Road and Highway 53 is suggested on the map above.
