Next Week in Rock Ridge Sports: Wolverines Stay Active with Summer Practices and Youth Competition

VIRGINIA — Rock Ridge High School will host another busy week of summer athletics as basketball, volleyball, baseball, softball and track and field programs keep athletes and youth teams active across the campus.

The week opens Monday with the Rock Ridge girls basketball team practicing from 9:45-11:30 a.m. in the U.S. Steel Gymnasium. Evening activities feature a full slate of youth competition, including a Babe Ruth baseball game from 4:30-7:30 p.m. at Safelite Field, a VFW baseball game from 5-8 p.m. at Frandsen Bank & Trust Field and a 12U softball practice from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on the junior varsity softball field. The high school volleyball program also holds two training sessions in the U.S. Steel Gymnasium, running from 5-5:45 p.m. and 6-7:30 p.m.

Tuesday's schedule is highlighted by a Babe Ruth baseball practice from 3:30-5 p.m. at Frandsen Bank & Trust Field. High school volleyball returns to the U.S. Steel Gymnasium from 4-5:30 p.m., while the 10U Rock Ridge softball team practices from 5-6:30 p.m. on the junior varsity softball field. Elementary summer track and field programming is also scheduled, with the boys varsity track and field staff leading instruction from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at Raduenz Field.

Girls basketball returns to the court Wednesday morning from 9:45-11:30 a.m. before another busy evening of competition. Seppi Field hosts 12U softball action, including a matchup against International Falls beginning at 4 p.m., while Safelite Field is the site of another Babe Ruth baseball game from 4:30-7:30 p.m. Junior high summer volleyball rounds out the day with practice from 5:30-7 p.m. at North Star Elementary.

Thursday concludes the week's activities with a VFW baseball game from 4-6 p.m. at Frandsen Bank & Trust Field, followed by a Babe Ruth baseball practice from 5-6:30 p.m. at Safelite Field.

The Wolverines' summer schedule continues to emphasize skill development for high school athletes while providing extensive opportunities for youth participation across baseball, softball, volleyball, basketball and track and field. The steady calendar of practices and games reflects Rock Ridge's continued investment in building its athletic programs throughout the offseason.
