Hibbing traffic stop leads to 3-pound meth seizure, two arrests

HIBBING, Minn. (HH) — Authorities seized about 3 pounds of methamphetamine and arrested two people following a pair of search warrants last week in Hibbing, according to the Lake Superior Violent Offender Task Force.

Task force members detained Travis Timothy White, 42, during a traffic stop about 5:50 a.m. Dec. 6 in Hibbing. Officers towed the vehicle to the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office substation in Hibbing and executed a search warrant, where investigators reported finding roughly 3 pounds of meth, a digital scale and plastic baggies. White was booked into the St. Louis County Jail in Hibbing.

A short time later, task force members and Hibbing police executed a second search warrant at White’s residence in Hibbing. Officers arrested Deann Marie Buncich, 41, on suspicion of meth possession. She also was booked into the St. Louis County Jail.

White was arraigned Dec. 9 in St. Louis County District Court in Hibbing on four counts of first-degree methamphetamine charges. His bail was set at $350,000.

Buncich was arraigned on one count of fifth-degree drug possession. Her bail was set at $10,000.
