LSC Nursing Pinning Ceremony takes place Friday

The Lake Superior College Fall Nursing Pinning Ceremony will take place Friday, December 13 at 5 p.m. in The Commons of the main campus.

LSC will graduate 34 students from its professional nursing program this fall semester. The program is nationally accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN). This qualifies them to take the Minnesota state nursing exam to become registered nurses.

The formal ceremony welcomes new nursing graduates into the nursing profession. New nurses are presented nursing pins by faculty or a loved one chosen by the graduate. Michael Perich and Jessica Babcock will serve as student speakers for the event.

Family and friends are invited to attend the pinning ceremony which will be held in The Commons on LSC’s main campus.

Howie: Reinert has failed Downtown Duluth

The library debate generated plenty of noise and no resolution. Skywalk conversations took up oxygen without producing a clear direction. The broader Imagine Downtown Duluth effort exists, but still feels like a $300,000 plan waiting for a moment when it becomes real in ways people can’t miss.

Howie: Forsman the best choice for Duluth’s next mayor

Arik Forsman doesn’t posture. He doesn’t spend his time trying to win the internet for a day. He leans into the unglamorous mechanics of governing — budgets, policy detail, stakeholder conversations — and does it with a steadiness that’s easy to overlook if you’re chasing noise instead of results.
