Minnesota adds size at receiver; Michigan bolsters secondary

Minnesota signed wide receiver Jahmal Banks, a 6-foot-3, 215-pound target from Nebraska. Banks brings size and catch-radius to the Monsters’ evolving offensive system, adding another option for a team that has emphasized physical receivers throughout the offseason.

The AF1 saw a fresh round of roster movement Wednesday, with Minnesota landing a high-upside wideout and Michigan shoring up both its receiving corps and defensive backfield as teams continue shaping depth charts ahead of training camp.

Minnesota signed wide receiver Jahmal Banks, a 6-foot-3, 215-pound target from Nebraska. Banks brings size and catch-radius to the Monsters’ evolving offensive system, adding another option for a team that has emphasized physical receivers throughout the offseason.

Banks previously played at Wake Forest before transferring to Nebraska, finishing his college career with 16 touchdowns and making three preseason appearances with the Baltimore Ravens earlier this year.

Michigan made a pair of additions aimed at improving its versatility and secondary play.

The Phoenix signed Cortez Eatmon, a 6-foot-3, 198-pound wide receiver/defensive back from the University of West Florida.

Eatmon offers two-way potential after a productive college career that included snaps at both receiver and in coverage, giving Michigan flexibility as it rounds out its depth chart.

Michigan also added BerDale Robins, a 5-foot-9, 175-pound defensive back from Nevada.

Robins appeared in 54 games for the Wolf Pack and carved out a reputation as a quick-trigger corner who excels in space. He adds experience to the secondary.

AF1 teams continue to retool rosters ahead of the league’s winter transaction window, with more player movement expected in the coming weeks.
