A Duluth Mayor Roger Reinert post on Facebook Saturday – "Our first blizzard last week came at just the right time for one last big winter event! I got to help kick off the AMSOIL Snocross National race weekend at Spirit Mountain. Snocross is back in Duluth for the first time since 2019, and I was excited to help welcome back this well loved event to our community! Out of the 9 Snocross events held across North America, no location has hosted the series more often than right here in Duluth at Spirit Mountain. The weekend’s events will draw over 35,000 fans from all over the Midwest to watch the grand finale of the series. This season had the highest racer entries ever, and there are professional racers competing here from the US, Finland, Norway, Canada and more. Our region LOVES this event, and it's huge for tourism promotion and revenue creation. AMSOIL is the title sponsor of Snocross and one of the Twin Ports largest employers. Founded by Al Amatuzio in 1972, AMSOIL is located in Superior. It manufactures synthetic lubricants and exports them to over 90 countries."
