EAGAN, Minn. — Vikings quarterback J.J. McCarthy and outside linebacker Dallas Turner have signed their rookie contracts, the team announced Sunday.

Minnesota's first-round picks inked their deals shortly after reporting to Twin Cities Orthopedics Performance Center for 2024 Vikings Training Camp.

McCarthy became the highest-drafted QB in franchise history when Minnesota moved up one spot, from 11 to 10, during the 2024 NFL Draft.

The Vikings were able to use their second pick of the first-round to move up from No. 23 and draft Turner at No. 17 overall.

The signings of McCarthy and Turner round out Minnesota's rookie class.

On May 10, Minnesota inked three of their seven draft selections, signing kicker Will Reichard, offensive lineman Michael Jurgens and defensive lineman Levi Drake Rodriguez. The team also announced the signings of 17 undrafted free agents.

Tackle Walter Rouse signed his rookie deal on May 14, and cornerback Khyree Jackson signed on May 28. Jackson tragically died in an automobile accident on July 6.

Howie: Minnesota has outgrown its stories

Minnesota does not need more outrage. It needs clearer accounting. It needs fewer slogans and more follow-through. It needs to revisit old assumptions with open eyes and accept that a reputation earned decades ago does not guarantee results today.
