By Kelli Latuska

Northland Constructors of Duluth has been awarded the Skyline Parkway/Bardon’s Peak Scenic Overlook Rehabilitation and Interpretive Marker Project.

The project spans Skyline Parkway from the Magney-Snively Natural Area Trailhead parking lot, located at 10170 West Skyline Parkway, to the western city limits. Project work includes culvert replacement, ditch improvements, retaining wal rehabilitation, graffiti removal and interpretive marker installation.

Project preparatory work is anticipated to begin Monday, February 24. Contractors will be on site performing tree removal operations during the week. Caution is advised to any members of the public entering the project boundaries, as there may be construction activities occurring at any time along the corridor.

The affected portion of Skyline Parkway will remain closed to vehicular traffic for the duration of the 2025 construction season. Members of the public utilizing the recreational trail system in the project area should observe all signed detours and exercise caution while using the affected trail area.
