DULUTH, Minn. (HH) — Lake Superior College will host its annual Student Success Day on Wednesday, offering students a full day of workshops, activities and resources aimed at boosting academic and personal growth.

The event, running from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the Duluth college’s main campus, has been held each year since 2008. Sessions will be led by LSC faculty, staff and community partners, including Aspirus-St. Luke’s, the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development, Essentia Health, AmeriCorps, MNsure, LeadMN and Affinity Plus.

Students can choose from break-out sessions on arts, community engagement, financial literacy, health and wellness, technology, travel and transferring to a four-year institution. Clubs will also showcase their work, from the Auto Club offering free vehicle checks to the Surgical Technology Club staging a mock cesarean section of twins. The Fire Club plans a tour of its vehicle and equipment.

“What makes Student Success Day so valuable is the incredible collaboration between our campus and community,” said Nicola Scott, director of the Tutoring and Learning Center and event organizer. “In a single day, students can access resources, build skills, and make connections that support their success throughout their entire college journey and career.”

Other events will include a choir performance, ping-pong tournament, nature hike, clothing swap, vendor exhibits, open labs and a free lunch.

Classes will be suspended during the daylong program. More details are available on the Lake Superior College website.
