Dennis Dale Comfort, 73, passed away peacefully on December 4, 2025, in Duluth, Minnesota, the city where he was born on December 2, 1952.

Known to many as Denny, he lived a life filled with rhythm, love, and unwavering loyalty. A proud Duluth native, Denny’s journey began and ended in the same city that shaped his deep appreciation for music and family. He served his country through the Guards and carried that sense of duty and commitment into every aspect of his life.

Denny shared a beautiful life with his beloved wife, Jane Comfort—the love of his life. Together, they cherished a family grounded in love and laughter. He was a devoted father to Shawn Stewart, Erin (Tom) Janus, Brent (Anna) Calore, Ryan (Amy) Calore, and Eric (Ashley) Calore.

His role as a grandfather brought him immense joy; he cherished every moment spent with his eleven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Denny also held close bonds with his siblings, Jeff (Mary) Comfort, Connie Hennum, Rick (Cinda) Spieler, Kenie (Jan) Spieler, and Randi Pakula . His extended family of nieces, nephews, and countless friends were all touched by his warmth and generosity.

Music was the heartbeat of Denny’s life. A passionate drummer, he found joy not only in playing but also in collecting vinyl records and music memorabilia. His home echoed with melodies from decades past—each note a testament to his enduring love for sound and rhythm. Whether behind a drum kit or mixing a CD, Denny’s musical spirit was infectious.

He was known for loving big and hard—a loyal soul who gave freely of himself to those around him. Time spent with family and friends was sacred to him; these moments were often filled with laughter, storytelling, and the soundtrack of his favorite tunes.

Denny's legacy is one of deep affection and vibrant energy. Those who knew him will remember the way he lit up a room with music or how he made everyone feel like family. As we say goodbye to this remarkable man, we take comfort in knowing he is playing drums in Heaven while his mother Lois dances along to the beat—just as they did while with us on Earth.

May Denny’s memory bring comfort to all who loved him and may the rhythm of his life continue to echo in our hearts forever.

A Celebration of Life will be held on December 14, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 04:00 PM at Sitio Events 159 N Cloquet Rd E.

The family requests all gifts and notes of sympathy be sent to the Celebration of Life Gathering on the 14th.
