Denfeld visits Silver Bay in girls basketball, 6 p.m. Game Notes: The Hunters (0-1) lost their 2023-24 season and home opener against North Branch 75-24 last Friday. The Mariners are 0-3.

Denfeld visits Hermantown in boys basketball, 7 p.m. Game Notes: Both teams opened their season in the Hermantown Tip-Off Tournament last weekend, with the Hunters going 1-1 and Hawks losing both games. Hermantown is seeking a third straight Section 7AAA championship later this season, and Denfeld has one of its best teams in several decades. The Hunters feature junior guard Marnaries Ferguson, but senior forwards Aidan Altona and KJ Pulliam are day-to-day with lower body injuries. The Hawks are led by senior forward Abe Soumis.

Denfeld visits Hibbing-Chisholm in boys hockey, 7:15 p.m. Game Notes: Class 2A power Denfeld is 2-1-0, after suffering a humbling 7-0 loss at Coon Rapids last Saturday afternoon. The Bluejackets are 3-3-0. The Hunters feature ultra-explosive junior forward John Scott, who has a team-leading seven goals and 12 points. Senior Connor Doyle (4.16 gaa, .850 saves pct.) starts in goal.
