Todd Johnson, who has served as the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Northland's chief executive officer for the past 28 years, has stepped down to pursue new opportunities.

Under Johnson's leadership, the organization has achieved significant growth and has expanded its reach from Duluth to also serve youth in the Superior, Hibbing, and Grand Rapid/Greenway communities.

During his tenure, Johnson received many awards, including being inducted into the Boys & Girls Club Great Plains Area Council Hall of Fame and CEO of the Year.

To ensure a seamless transition while the search for a new CEO begins, the organization’s Chief Financial Officer, Dawn Hautajarvi, will serve as the interim CEO and all club operations and programming will continue as normal.

Howie: The verdict on Reinert will be about direction, not personality

The question is no longer simply whether Roger Reinert deserves another term. The question is whether Duluth believes it is on the path it wants — and if not, who has the discipline, clarity and courage to alter it. November 2027 will deliver the verdict. The work of deciding it begins now.
