Witnesses told investigators the vehicle had been heading north when it crossed the centerline, veered off the roadway and came to rest in the west ditch.

RICE LAKE, Minn. — A driver was taken to the hospital Wednesday evening after a single-vehicle crash on Rice Lake Road, authorities said.

The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office said deputies, along with Rice Lake firefighters and the county rescue squad, responded to the 4900 block of Rice Lake Road just before 7 p.m.

Witnesses told investigators the vehicle had been heading north when it crossed the centerline, veered off the roadway and came to rest in the west ditch.

The driver, who was the only person in the vehicle, was taken by ambulance for treatment of injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.

No other vehicles were involved. The crash remains under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office.
