Hermantown pounded Denfeld 13-0 and lost to Spring Lake Park 9-5 in a split doubleheader Saturday at Wade Stadium.

Cruz Runyan scattered six hits to earn the pitching victory in the opener, and River Freeman and Wylie Arro collected three hits each.

The Hawks (11-4) will play host to Proctor on Monday and to Grand Rapids Tuesday before playing a home-and-home series against Duluth East Wednesday at Fitchner Field and Friday at Ordean Field.

Hermantown has lost three of its last four.
